What makes sex good? For women, the answer may not be surprising, but it can be helpful when choosing a partner or entering that next relationship.
According to a recent survey conducted by Kindara, a fertility app, an emotional connection is the most important factor when it comes to enjoying an intimate moment with a partner. Of the 500 women polled, 53.2 percent indicated that it was the most important, with the second highest being foreplay.
Other factors that were considered in the survey include:
- Novelty or variation
- Frequent sexual activity
There are many issues that can affect sex for women. The study found that some of the top contenders for hindering intimacy include young children, struggle with self-image and not being in the mood. The two most prevalent issues were noted as lack of sync with a partner and the stress of everyday life.
Another simple issue that many couples face is timing for sexual moments. One recent survey found that women prefer to have sex at night after a long day, while men want to get it on in the morning before their day really begins.
Despite these issues, one-fifth of women said there were no current obstacles affecting their sex lives (yes, ladies!).
Richard Longhurst, co-owner of the online sex shop Lovehoney, said that sex often depends on the relation partners have to one another and most find, "sexual happiness in the end with a partner with similar sexual needs."
